The Corporate SPARK Program was founded by the National Innovation Agency of Thailand (NIA) and is operated by SPHERE 8 with the objective to bridge and support innovative collaboration between Thai and Global Tech Enterprises. The program aims to deliver maximum value to the companies and a high success rate for collaborations. To empower Thai Innovation-Driven Enterprises (IDE), the program connects these enterprises to Global Tech Enterprises with cutting-edge technologies. This would enable them to scale up with a unique competitive edge within the ASEAN region.
The activities in the Corporate SPARK Program are divided into 3 phases: Knowledge Transfer, Scouting & Matching, and Proof of Concept (POC). These activities are intentionally designed to support the participants from day one, from understanding the company’s needs and direction to selecting suitable tech partners and executing the potential POCs.
1st Phase: Knowledge Transfer
Interactive classes with top mentors from Thailand and all over the world and 1-on-1 coaching sessions to crystalize participants’ challenges and needs, enhance participants’ capabilities, fuse knowledge on innovation fundamentals and understand language & culture barriers between Thai Enterprises and Global Tech Enterprises.
2nd Phase: Scouting & Matching
1-on-1 scouting for participants to explore suitable technologies that are relevant to their companies, and discussion with the SPHERE 8 team on best-fit companies & matching sessions with the selected Global Tech solutions.
3rd Phase: Proof of Concept (POC)
The Corporate SPARK Program is open for Thai Enterprises in all sectors with a focus on fast-growing verticals in Thailand (e.g. A.I./Machine Learning/Robotics, Cyber Security, FoodTech, Mobility & Logistics, Fintech & Blockchain, Energy, Healthcare & Telemedicine, Retail & Tourism, etc.), and aims to support Thai Enterprises in exploring unique technologies to complement the scalability and expansion of their businesses.
The Corporate SPARK Program was founded in 2020 and has been ongoing for three years. Every year, the program has initiated numerous successful collaborations between Thai Enterprises and Global Tech Enterprises. For example, TOP Engineering, one of the leading manufacturers and operators of drones in Thailand and an alumni of the Corporate SPARK 2020 Program (formerly IIM-IDE), was matched with one of the top Israeli automated drone solutions companies. A pilot project was conducted by both companies for several leading companies in Thailand during the past year. Currently, they continue to strengthen their collaboration and expand the automated drone solutions in both Thailand and ASEAN countries.
This year, the Corporate SPARK 2022 Program will be held between May 31 – November 3, 2022 with 12 Thai Enterprises joining the program journey to explore emerging technologies and leading Tech Enterprises from all over the world.
